VALERIA MOROZOVSKY GIRIMONTE, CO-FOUNDER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, AND DIRECTOR

Originally from Argentina, Ms. Girimonte has 14 years of hands-on experience in emerging markets financial information services. She began her career covering macro and international commerce trends for a local think tank in Buenos Aires prior to joining Thomson Financial as a product manager. She later joined financial information start-up, Grupo Infotel Espana (a Spanish company expanding into Latin America), backed at the time by London-based Capital Z, where she worked closely on strategy with the Madrid McKinsey team.

Ms. Girimonte joined Debtwire in New York City in 2005 where she was instrumental to the success of the service. Initially hired in sales, she then moved to lead the research department where she quickly rose through the ranks to lead the Emerging Market analyst team. Through her proven management of high-performance teams across many geographies (Buenos Aires, London, New York, and Dubai) she developed a broad range of practical and strategic expertise, including product management, operations, sales, marketing, and research. Ms. Girimonte graduated with an Economics degree from Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) in Buenos Aires.

In 2013, Ms. Girimonte founded REDD Intelligence with co-founder Gabriel DeSanctis. The duo launched the Latin America event-driven special situations service in 2014 and in late-2017, followed this success with the launch of the Asia service. Ms. Girimonte serves as REDD Intelligence’s Global Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. DeSanctis has 22 years’ experience as an emerging markets financial journalist and has covered emerging markets for Technical Data, Thomson Global Markets, IFR Magazine, IFR Latin America, and ifrmarkets.com before launching and managing Debtwire Latin America, an online distressed debt and high yield corporate information product in 2004. 

In 2009, he became Debtwire’s Editor for Emerging Markets, managing teams spread throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Along with REDD co-founder, Valeria Girimonte, Mr. DeSanctis helped manage Debtwire’s emerging market sales, marketing, and content strategy. 

Mr. DeSanctis holds a BA in economics from Skidmore College and studied at the University of London and the Juilliard School of Music, the latter as a concert violist and chamber musician.

In 2013, Mr. DeSanctis founded REDD Intelligence with co-founder Valeria Girimonte. The duo launched the Latin America event-driven special situations service in 2014 and in late-2017, followed this success with the launch of the Asia service. Mr. DeSanctis serves as the CEO of REDD Intelligence Asia and oversees the company’s Asia operations.
