During this online educational program, foreign journalists will learn about entertainment reporting and journalism in the US as an international correspondent. Working in Hollywood may be something of a dream, but it certainly has its challenges. Understand the reality of the everyday life working with film and television: the perks, the challenges, the fun, the sorrows and of course, the unexpected experiences.

SPEAKERS BIO
Anke Hofmann
Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Hofmann initially envisioned a medical career as a doctor in developing countries. After moving to Los Angeles at age 23, her life’s focus pivoted to journalism. As an entertainment reporter, she regularly freelances for the German publishing house Funke Mediengruppe. She writes for Germany’s highest-circulated bi-weekly entertainment guide TV Digital. She also contributes to Germany’s oldest weekly programming guide Hörzu, the science/tech/history/health-oriented bi-monthly sister magazine Hörzu Wissen, and the newly established quarterly magazine Streaming, which is focused on digital content. Hofmann is also a contributor for TV Direkt, Gong, as well as , www.Goldenekamera.de, the online portal and companion to the annual German film and television award Die Goldene Kamera. Hofmann enjoys discovering and writing about the humanity behind Hollywood, and hence the philanthropic efforts of the HFPA – which she joined in 2001 - are particularly close to her heart. She has served as Vice President of the HFPA in 2017 and 2018, and has been elected to the Board of Directors under multiple administrations. In 2009, Anke was honored with the International Media Award, presented by the ICG Publicists Awards.
Miriam Spritzer:
Miriam Spritzer is an international correspondent for a number of Brazilian outlets. Based in New York, she started her career in 2011 as an on-air reporter for TVCOM, a local news channel for Grupo RBS and one of the largest media companies in Brazil. Additionally, she often contributed to Grupo RBS radio shows and newspapers. She has been published in renowned magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, L’Officiel and Marie Claire and has contributed to major broadcast and radio outlets including Rede Globo, Band and Jovem Pan. Throughout her life, Miriam has studied dance, music, vocal technique, acting and filmmaking. She has worked briefly both on stage and screen productions, as a performer and behind the scenes. Due to her background in the performing arts, she specialized in culture and entertainment reporting and often covers stories on Broadway shows, film and television premieres, film festivals and art. As a reporter, Miriam is very known for her red carpet coverages and her profile interviews with renowned personalities in entertainment and the creative fields.
