Chris Loder

Chris Loder is responsible for developing external communications strategies for Bayer U.S. and its affiliates in the United States, including Consumer Health, Crop Science, and Pharmaceuticals. He also oversees executive engagement strategies for U.S. senior leaders and external digital media/communications.

Chris joined Bayer in January 2014 bringing strong global experience in crisis communications, brand management and corporate reputation, and developing external communications strategies.

Prior to joining Bayer, Chris was Senior Director of Corporate Affairs at Pfizer where he served as one of the lead company global spokespersons for all corporate matters including the $63 billion acquisition of Wyeth and $2.3 billion settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice. Before that, he spent five years at Merck as a director of media relations working on many proactive engagements including executive communications and the Vioxx recall.

Chris began his career as a reporter and later became a Deputy Bureau Chief at the The Star-Ledger, Newark, N.J. (the state’s largest newspaper and nation’s 15th largest daily). During his nine years at the Ledger, Chris specialized in hard news, features and profiles. He was the top contributor from the bureau of Page One.
