Alexander Hassanein is a U.N.-based reporter for the Tokyo Shimbun, a Japanese newspaper. He has been at the United Nations for over 4 years, previously as an adviser to a permanent mission, and currently as a reporter. He has been on both sides of the barrier covering UN issues. As a foreign correspondent, he also covers political and social issues in the Americas.
