This educational program is developed by the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in partnership with DHL Global Forwarding. This program is part of the Association’s mission to provide international journalists with ongoing educational resources on key topics shaping global policy, economics, and media. The Association is solely responsible for the development and content of this educational program. The session is open exclusively to international correspondents based in the United States who report for global media outlets.
With Tim Robertson’s extensive experience and strategic perspective, this session will provide international journalists the opportunity to review and discuss:
How geopolitical shifts and global tensions are reshaping trade relationships, transportation routes, and market access;
The resilience and vulnerabilities of global supply chains, particularly in a post-pandemic world marked by regional conflicts and economic instability;
The evolving landscape of U.S. trade policy and its direct implications for cross-border logistics and international commerce;
The strategies businesses and governments are adopting to build economic resilience and maintain operational continuity amid uncertainty;

Tim Robertson, Chief Executive Officer, DHL Global Forwarding – Americas
Tim Robertson
Tim Robertson joined DHL in 2002 as the Global Vice President of Strategic Development. Since then, he has held various positions in the company, such as CIO and Head of Customer Service and Business Process Organization for DHL Global Forwarding Americas, Head of Air Freight at DHL Global Forwarding Americas, District Manager for the Los Angeles station, Vice President of Business Development for the EMEA region, and Vice President of Marketing & Sales for the U.S. before becoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for DHL Global Forwarding Americas leading more than 7,500 employees across 16 countries. Tim holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s degree with First Class Honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney in Australia. He was recognized with the 2008 DHL West Region District Manager of the Year Award, as well as the CEO Award for Sales Team of the Year in 2014. Further, under Tim’s leadership, the U.S. sales force was recognized by SellingPower as one of the “50 Best Companies to Sell For in the U.S.” in 2015 and 2016.

Stephanie Ochoa
Stephanie Ochoa is a Mexican journalist who has been based in Washington since 2020. She has more than 10 years of experience covering social and political issues in Mexico, Spain and the United States. She is currently White House Correspondent for Entravision. In this role, she reports daily on national political issues for local stations under the Univision signal throughout the country. She covered the 2020 presidential elections, as well as protests in the United States against police brutality, and events of global significance such as the assault on the Capitol in January 2021. She has also done special coverage on the border with Mexico and on the immigration crisis. She previously covered President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's campaign and his government. In 2021 she earned recognition as an “Emerging Leader” by the Washington Academy of Political Arts and Sciences and in 2023, she received a Capital Emmy for her reporting on the 2022 US midterm elections for Telemundo Washington. Her work was recognized in the photographic archive of women journalists in risk coverage, chosen by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
