Educational Program with Bob Dotson: "Behind the Media Mirror: The Real American Story"
During this workshop organized by the Association of Foreign Press Correspondents in the USA, Bob Dotson will take foreign correspondents step-by-step through the storytelling process. What questions to ask that will help you find great stories? What angles to pursue? What video or graphics you will need? What sequences and natural sound will make the difference in your story? How to build a story that attracts a wider audience? How to create a storytelling arc, no matter how short the piece or how long you have to complete it?
WHEN: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 | 5-6 PM EDT
Bob Dotson has crisscrossed this country, more than four million miles, searching for people who are practically invisible, the ones who change our lives but don’t take time to tweet and tell us about it. His long-running series, “The American Story with Bob Dotson,” was a regular feature on NBC’s Today Show for 40 years. He is now a New York Times Best Selling author and writes a daily blog which The Society of Professional Journalists cited as the “best in new media.”
